Using a private fiduciary can help relieve a lot of pressure on family and friends. Administering an estate requires enormous time, effort, and research.

What is a Fiduciary?

Fiduciary is a term used to describe a legal or ethical relationship of trust between two or more parties. The duties of a fiduciary vary on a client-to-client basis, however a fiduciary typically takes care of finances or property (known as an estate) for another person’s benefit. A fiduciary must avoid any and all conflicts of interest and may not profit from his/her position of trust.

A Trustee carries out the terms outlined in a trust document. As a trustee, RFS can manage investments and trust assets, pay trust expenses, protect the trust account and assets, record keeping, and file tax returns.

Power of Attorney

A Power of Attorney grants the Fiduciary the ability to act as an ‘attorney-in-fact’ in both a financial and health care capacity. In financial matters, the Fiduciary can conduct both personal and financial business on behalf of the client.
In health care matters, the Fiduciary can make health care decisions, placement, and medical treatment. If a client passes away, the fiduciary will handle the disposition of the body as directed by the decedent’s legal documents.

History of Robertson Fiduciary Services

P.J. Robertson started her career in the customer service industry, learning the values of personalized service and catering to specific needs. Eventually, through common interests, she met Judith Handwerker, who needed the personal level of customer service and administrative skills that P.J. provided (1994). They worked alongside each other until her counterpart was diagnosed with lupus. By this time, P.J. was well on her way to being licensed by the State of California, and became a National Guardian member around the same time.

Judy confidently passed on her cases to P.J., giving Judy time to enjoy her retirement, fight her illness, and be with family. Since then, P.J. has taken on the clients of her senior as well as many cases of her own, branching out to other states (ex, Texas, Oregon, New Mexico, Illinois). She has been repeatedly requested to work with the Native American tribes along the West Coast.
